Desert Mounted Corps Figurine
This stunning cold cast bronze figurine honours the bonds of the Desert Mounted Corps of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died in service or were killed in action in Egypt, Palestine and Syria during World War One. This mid-size figurine is a sensational version of the commonly titled Light Horse Memorial found on Anzac Parade, Canberra. This figurine commemorates the men of the Australian Light Horse Brigade and the New Zealand Mounted Rifles, alongside the Imperial Camel Corps and Australian Flying Corps who served between 1916 and 1918. Depicting an Australian Light-Horseman defending a New Zealand Mounted Rifleman standing beside his wounded horse, the unbreakable bonds of horsemen and their mounts and the enduring spirit of mateship are beautifully commemorated by this figurine.
