The RACT, a corps within the Australian Army, is ranked tenth out of all corps in terms of seniority. Established in 1973, it is the premier logistics corps and resulted from a combination of the Royal Australian Army Service Corps (RAASC) and Royal Australia Engineers Transportation Service. It is tasked with operating army surface transportation resources, controlling movement, providing terminal and postal services, and managing Army elements of air logistic support.
